The Party's Over

Actually, all THREE parties are over!

Little Man's first 2nd birthday party was with his friends at the babysitter's house on Thursday. They had a basketball theme and everything! After every present, he said "Thank You!" and shared his basketball shaped birthday cupcake cake!

Little Man's second 2nd birthday party was here at home yesterday. All of our other friends were busy or out of town, but we still got to see the Pinckard clan and go swimming! We went down the slide and swang on the swings! Then we blew out birthday candles and ate cake, and then all the boys were worn out! After we put Daddy in bed, the birthday boy and I cleaned up and then we went to bed, too!

Little Man's third 2nd birthday party was today, on his actual birthday. My parents and sister and brother and Granny came up from Houston to bring him a train set and eat lunch and share some more cake and ice cream. Then, they had to leave, and Little Man needed a nap. I wouldn't be surprised if he slept for three hours. Except that then he'd stay up too late tonight.

All in all, we're very proud of him. He behaved very well for so much excitement spread out over four days, and he only threw a couple fits, which were easily re-directed into something else, or which led to a nap.

I just worry that my child is going to think that every weekend is a party weekend, so I'm really looking forward to the end of May. The end of school, the end of parties, and the end of every weekend planned out ahead of me. I can't wait until July! Vacation, here we come!
