Heat Wave All Winter Long

My child must have been going through menopause all winter long. My child, who in the winter of last year couldn't stand to have his pants legs raised in any way at all, has been reprimanded at home and at school for pulling his pant legs up around his knees. In fact, we have even been asked not to send him to school in pants that would pull up so that they don't even have to deal with it. He pushes his long sleeves up and pulls his pant legs up, and refuses to pull them down unless his life depends on it. In fact, even in the really cold days, we would come home from school and take off our jackets, only to find my son on the floor of the living room, taking off his shoes and socks, then his pants, and then putting his socks and shoes back on again.
How cute is that, walking around with a long sleeve shirt pushed up to his elbows and a pair of socks and shoes on, and nothing else but a pair of Lightning McQueen big boy undies??
Don't worry... I've taken pictures so that I can show them to potential girlfriends as he gets older.

Tidbits

Kill Count = 4

I drive a neutral colored vehicle. I have always called it the invisible car, because everyone wants to pull out in front of me like they didn’t even see me coming. Well, apparently, humans aren’t the only ones that miss seeing me coming. In the past month, on four different occasions, a large swarm of little birds have flown across the road I am driving on, and there is always one or two that are straggling a little farther behind, and they fly so low to the ground there is no way to avoid them. So, four little birds have gone to meet their maker by the means of the front grill of my vehicle. It’s not my fault, I swear, they just fly too low to the ground and then they meet my grill. Survival of the fittest, right?

Another first:

Last night I sat down and figured out why my mom always stayed up so late at night. She was always finishing something that she wanted to get done so that she didn’t have to stress about it the next day. Tomorrow my child has his first Valentine’s Day party at school. He was sent home with a list of his friends and instructions on what to send with him. Being the “on top of it” mommy that I am, I bought everything that he needed this past weekend, and then got it ready last night so that it could go with him today so that I didn’t have to worry about forgetting anything tomorrow. I sat there writing out Valentine’s cards to kids I know by face, not name, yet, remembering the days of school when you went through and opened up all the little cards from your friends, and others that weren’t necessarily friends, but the teacher made sure that everyone got one… And so it begins.

You know you’re tired when…

You write your name instead of your child’s name on the “from:” part of the Valentine’s Day cards you’re doing for his class. I guess that’s what I get for naming him with the same start of his name as mine. Next time I’ll be more careful when picking out the perfect baby names.
