I have come to the conclusion that there are more than those Everyone-knows-them-but-no-one-says-them type curse words. These kind are the kind that come up in everyday language and the person that says them may not be aware of the degree of offense that someone else listening might take them.
Such is the case with a little word spelled P-R-O-M.
This year I am the junior class sponsor with another teacher here at school. This sponsorship stuff usually isn't a big deal until it's their junior year, and then a little more work when they are seniors. But, the junior class puts on p^*m for the seniors, and being the sponsors, we are the party planners and chairpeople of every p^*m committee ever invented. It really sucks. Not to mention that you would think that you could get a few parents involved to help take some of the planning and creative burden off of a teacher who is trying to plan this event, while at the same time trying to teach students so that they can pass that other four letter curse word... T-A-K-S.
So, this weekend was spent with 5 junior class girls at my house making invitations to this event, and then we planned centerpieces for the tables, and I think we have enough stuff ordered for decorations, and then we're just going to p-r-a-y from now until April 16th that everything goes smoothly. Oops, another four-letter school mandated curse word. This really sucks.
